Susan Curtin Gouldin
Susan joined Heimerl Law Firm in 2014 and is admitted to the bar in the State of New Jersey.
Susan began her legal career at Riker, Danzig, Scherer, Hyland and Perretti LLP in Morristown, New Jersey. At Riker, Susan was an associate in the Environmental Department and participated in all facets of environmental litigation before both state and federal courts, as well as participated in settlement negotiations on behalf of clients with the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection. In addition, Susan coordinated and conducted extensive environmental due diligence and drafted contractual provisions in connection with the representation of a national oil company in its sale of an oil refinery.
More recently, Susan spent several years working as a “pool” attorney with the Office of the Public Defender. She practiced with the Office of Parental Representation, and represented indigent parents in all aspects of their appeal following termination of their parental rights by the Division of Child Protection & Permanency.
Susan is a 1995 graduate of Georgetown University Law Center, where she was a selected member of the Appellate Litigation Clinic as well as an advocate on the Environmental Law Moot Court team. She received her B.A. with Honors in History from Colgate University. She resides in Bernardsville, New Jersey with her husband and three children.

Susan Ziwot
Susan joined Heimerl Law Firm in 2018 and is admitted to the bar in the State of New York.
Susan began her legal career at McGuire Woods LLP in New York where she had clerked during law school. McGuire Woods is a firm of approximately 1,100 attorneys practicing in 23 offices. Susan was an associate in the Banking and Finance Department where much of the work dealt with borrowers and lenders in connection with transactions for the financing of power generation facilities.
Prior to her work as an attorney, Susan worked for 7 years as a paralegal in the fields of both bankruptcy and family law.
She is a 2001 graduate of Washington University School of Law in St. Louis, Missouri where she was the Negotiation Competition Champion. She was also selected for the Congressional and Administrative Law Externship program where she worked as a law clerk for Senator Mike DeWine and the United States Senate Judiciary Committee.
Susan received a B.S. in Speech Pathology and Audiology from SUNY Geneseo in 1991. Originally from New Hartford, New York, she resides in Bernardsville, New Jersey with her husband and three children. Susan is actively involved in her children’s schools and her church, Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Bernardsville.
